55 ILCS 5/3-6005: Failure to give bond or take oath; vacancy.

If any person elected or appointed to the office of sheriff, of any county, shall fail to give bond or take the oath required of him or her, within 30 days after he or she is appointed or declared elected, the office shall be deemed vacant.
