55 ILCS 5/5-19002: Powers and duties of council.

The safety council shall conduct safety programs and safety educational campaigns to promote the protection and conservation of life and property and the prevention of accidents in the county. The council may cooperate with State agencies, other political subdivisions, municipal corporations and private organizations in the conduct of such programs and campaigns.
