55 ILCS 5/6-2011

Issuance of notes in excess of amount permitted; penalty. Any official of the County who votes for or otherwise influences the issuance of notes under this Division in excess of the limitations herein provided shall be liable for twice the sum of such excessive notes to the County and shall be ineligible for his office and be subject to removal from office.
