605 ILCS 5/7-202.6

The construction, reconstruction, maintenance and operation of street lighting systems on improved municipal streets, county highways or State highways and streets or thoroughfares constructed and paid for by special assessments levied under Division 2 of Article 9 of the Illinois Municipal Code, as heretofore or hereafter amended, within the municipality, where such improvement has been authorized by the Department.
