620 ILCS 50/57

When a resolution directing that the question of levying a tax or borrowing money by the issuance of General Bonds, be submitted to a vote, has been adopted by the county board or by petition as in this Act provided, the county clerk shall certify the resolution and the question to the proper election officials, who shall submit the question to the voters at an election in accordance with the general election law.
