625 ILCS 5/1-187.01: Servicing of vehicles.

The altering or maintaining of the parts of a vehicle other than its essential parts. Regarding engines and transmissions, however, repair or replacement of parts, which does not result in the removal of all or any part of the identification number shall be deemed servicing of the vehicle.
