65 ILCS 5/11-66-10

The board of directors, with the approval of the corporate authorities may acquire a site for a municipal coliseum by condemnation in the name of the municipality. Any proceeding to condemn for this purpose shall be maintained and conducted in the manner provided for the exercise of the right of eminent domain under the Eminent Domain Act.
