70 ILCS 1860/15.5

A mayor may hold the office of Commissioner of America's Central Port District simultaneously with the office of mayor. Notwithstanding any statute to the contrary, a mayor's acceptance of an appointment as a Commissioner of America's Central Port District does not terminate or impair the mayor's public office.
