720 ILCS 5/36-1.2: Receipt for seized property.

If a law enforcement officer seizes property for forfeiture under this Article, the officer shall provide an itemized receipt to the person possessing the property or, in the absence of a person to whom the receipt could be given, shall leave the receipt in the place where the property was found, if possible.
