745 ILCS 10/6A-105: Exemption from liability.

Neither a local public entity nor a public employee acting within the scope of his or her employment is liable for any injury or loss a person might receive while performing public or community service as ordered by the court, nor shall a local public entity or a public employee acting within the scope of his or her employment be liable for any tortious acts of any person performing public or community service for a violation of a penal, quasi-criminal, or civil ordinance of a local public entity, except for willful and wanton misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the local public entity or public employee.
