765 ILCS 530/7: Common law rights and remedies preserved.

Nothing in this Act shall be construed to diminish the rights of the operator or surface owner as they exist by established common law; provided, however, that any compensation paid pursuant to the provisions of Section 6 hereof, shall be a complete bar to the assertion of any other remedy for such damages.
