IC 20-26-5-42.7: Approval of school safety specialists and plans

Sec. 42.7. (a) The governing body of a school corporation shall do the following:

(1) Approve or disapprove all school safety specialists chosen by the superintendent of the school corporation under IC 10-21-1-9. The governing body of a school corporation shall also approve or disapprove the individual school safety specialist chosen by the superintendent of the school corporation to serve on the county school safety commission under IC 10-21-1-12.

(2) Review a school safety plan described in IC 10-21-1-10 following the procedures outlined in IC 10-21-1-11.

(b) Not later than July 1, 2024, the organizer of a charter school shall do the following:

(1) Approve or disapprove all school safety specialists chosen by leadership of the charter school under IC 10-21-1-9.

(2) Review a school safety plan described in IC 10-21-1-10 following the procedures outlined in IC 10-21-1-11.
