K.S.A. 45-401: Public policy concerning government records.
Where this section sits in the code
- Chapter 45.—PUBLIC RECORDS, DOCUMENTS AND INFORMATION
- Article 4.—PUBLIC RECORDS PRESERVATION
The legislature declares that state and local government records with enduring value should be stored in conditions which are not adverse to their permanent preservation and should be properly arranged so that appropriate public access to such records is possible. Disposition of noncurrent records which do not merit preservation will promote economy and efficiency in the day-to-day activities of government. Cooperation among agencies at all levels of government is necessary in order to achieve proper preservation of records with enduring value.
