KRS 164.735: Authority to contract with private owner.

The department may enter into contracts or cooperative agreements with private

landowners relating to the preservation and proper exploration of any archaeological site

or object of antiquity situated on such private land. The department may acquire, with any

funds available to it for such purpose, title to any real estate upon which is located an

archaeological site or object of antiquity which the department determines it is important

to be preserved.
