KRS 171.540: Inspection of agency records.

The department is authorized to inspect or survey the records of any state or local agency,

as well as to make surveys of records management and records disposal practices in such

agencies, and shall be given full cooperation of officials and employees of agencies in

such inspection and surveys; provided, that records, the use of which is restricted by or

pursuant to law or for reasons of security or the public interest, shall be inspected or

surveyed only in accordance with law, and the rules and regulations of the department.
