KRS 196.032: Department's objectives.

The primary objectives of the department shall be to maintain public safety and hold

offenders accountable while reducing recidivism and criminal behavior and improving

outcomes for offenders under its supervision. The department shall create and implement

policies and programs to achieve these objectives.
