KRS 65.430: Local legislative bodies may acquire interest in real property.

To carry out the purposes of KRS 65.410 to 65.460, local legislative bodies may acquire

by purchase, gift, lease, bequest or otherwise title to or any interests or rights in real

property that will provide a means for the preservation or provision of perma nent open

space land.
