Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 221, § 101: Salaries as full compensation

Section 101. Except as otherwise provided, the salaries of clerks shall be in full compensation for all services rendered by them in the civil or criminal courts, to the county commissioners, in making any returns required by law or in the performance of any other official duty.
