Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 7, § 8: Reports on estimates by state departments, officers, etc., to budget director

Section 8. On the request of either branch of the general court or of the ways and means committee of either branch, or of the governor, the secretary shall make a report of such of the estimates of departments, officers and commissions made to the budget director under sections three and four of chapter twenty-nine as may be required, and it may make recommendations relative thereto.
