Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 78, § 15: Duties relating to management and maintenance of libraries

Section 15. The board of library commissioners shall advise the librarian or trustees of any free public library, and may on request advise the librarian or other person in charge of the library of any state or county institution, relative to the selection or cataloguing of books and any other matter pertaining to the maintenance or administration of such library.
