Md. Code, Health - General § 24–2501

(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

(b) “Collection entity” means any individual, partnership, corporation, trust, estate, cooperative, association, government or government subdivision, agency, or other entity that purchases medical debt or collects medical debt on behalf of another.

(c) “Medical debt” has the meaning stated in § 14–1213 of the Commercial Law Article.
