Md. Code, Local Government § 20–701.1

(a) By ordinance, the County Council of Baltimore County may impose

development impact fees to finance any of the capital costs of additional or expanded

public works, improvements, and facilities required to accommodate new

construction or development.

(b) Any funds collected through a development impact fee for the purposes

identified under subsection (a) of this section shall be used within the surrounding

community of the construction or development for which the development impact fee

is imposed.
