27 M.R.S. §116: Research centers

Research centers may be designated by the State Librarian with the advice of the Maine Library Commission.

1. Duties. The research center shall:

A. Provide for advanced research needs;

B. Act as a back-up collection for the specialized reference needs of the reference and resource centers;

C. Provide such other cooperative activities and services as libraries may need or require.
