30-A M.R.S. §7051: General powers and duties

Plantations have the same powers and duties, and are subject to the same restrictions, as a municipality under the following provisions of this Title:

1. History and observances. Chapter 131;

2. Health, welfare and improvements. Chapter 151;

3. Municipal fire protection. Chapter 153;

4. Municipal forests. Chapter 155;

5. Parks, trees and playgrounds. Chapter 157;

6. Public dumps. Chapter 159;

7. Sewers and drains. Chapter 161;

8. Leasing of air rights. Chapter 165;

9. Regulations, licenses and permits. Part 2, Subpart 6;

9-A. Development districts for municipalities and plantations. Chapter 206, subchapter 1;

10. Tax base sharing. Chapter 223, subchapter 5; and

11. Ordinances. Chapter 141, but only with respect to animal control ordinances, subject to Title 7, section 3950, the sale and use of consumer fireworks within the plantation, subject to Title 8, section 223‑A, the accumulation of garbage, refuse, rubbish or trash or unwanted or discarded material of any kind or source on private property and ordinances regarding traditional foodways and direct producer-to-consumer transactions adopted in accordance with Title 7, chapter 8‑F.
