Sec. 4u.

If a city provides retirement benefits as part of a system of compensation under section 4i, the retirement benefits are subject to the protecting local government retirement and benefits act. As used in this section, "retirement benefit" means that term as defined in section 3 of the protecting local government retirement and benefits act.
