Mich. Comp. Laws § 257.1330a: Mechanic certification examination fund.

Sec. 30a.

(1) The mechanic certification examination fund is created in the state treasury.

(2) Beginning on July 1, 2026, the state treasurer shall deposit money and other assets received from any other source into the fund. The state treasurer shall direct the investment of money in the fund and credit interest and earnings from the investments to the fund.

(3) The department of state is the administrator of the fund for audits of the fund.

(4) Beginning on July 1, 2026, the department of state shall expend money from the fund, on appropriation, only for 1 or more of the following purposes:

(a) To develop and update the content of the mechanic certification examination.

(b) To administer the mechanic certification examination.
