Sec. 44521.

Any person renting, leasing, or operating a livery boat on navigable waters that is more than 20 feet in length shall present for examination, upon demand of any peace officer, a copy of the rental contract or lease agreement.

A person renting, leasing, or operating a livery boat on waters of the state shall not do any of the following:

Permit the operation of the livery boat without the equipment required by rules promulgated under this part.

Permit the operation of the livery boat if it contains a number of persons in excess of the maximum number approved for the livery boat and indicated on the inspection decal, plate, or tab affixed to the livery boat.

Permit the operation of the livery boat, if it is equipped with a motor with a horsepower rating in excess of the maximum horsepower approved for the livery boat and indicated on the inspection decal, plate, or tab affixed to the livery boat.
