Sec. 5313.

A municipality may petition the department to make a determination and issue an order under section 5312(1) for cause.

The department may issue an order to terminate the project for cause that is effective on the date the project ceases activities.

Subject to the termination of assistance by the authority and payment of any appropriate termination settlement costs, the department shall issue an order to the authority recommending appropriate action.

The termination of assistance by the authority shall not excuse or otherwise affect the municipality's requirement for repayment of the outstanding loan balance to the fund.

Termination of the loan under this section does not relieve the municipality of any requirements that may exist under state or federal law to construct the project.
