Sec. 21523.

The rules for operation and maintenance of hospitals shall not be less strict than those required for certification of hospitals under part D of title XVIII of the social security act, chapter 531, 79 Stat. 313, 42 U.S.C. 1395x to 1395yy and 1395bbb to 1395ggg.

The standards relating to construction, additions, modernization, or conversion of hospitals shall not be less strict than the standards contained in the document entitled "Minimum Design Standards for Health Care Facilities in Michigan" published by the department, dated March 1998.
