Sec. 1.

As used in this act:

"Compensation" means salaries.

"Mileage" means cost of transportation via the shortest traveled route either by train, bus or private automobile from the residence of the legislator to Lansing.

"Expenses" means expenses incurred by the legislator in connection with the discharge of his official duties.
