Mich. Comp. Laws § 400.66l: Guidelines for referrals to substance abuse prevention services or substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services.

Sec. 66 l .

A county that operates a patient care management system shall develop guidelines for referring to appropriate substance abuse prevention services or substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services an individual whose need for medical care, in whole or in part, is caused by substance abuse.

As used in this section, "substance abuse", "substance abuse prevention services", and "substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services" mean those terms as defined in section 6107 of the public health code, Act No. 368 of the Public Acts of 1978, being section 333.6107 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
