Sec. 1.
Each officer or employee of a county that is required by statute to furnish a bond conditioned on the officer's or employee's honesty or faithful discharge of the officer's or employee's duties shall be covered by a blanket bond by a surety company approved by the county board of commissioners or by an individual bond by a surety company approved by the county board of commissioners for the officer or employee.
The county board of commissioners shall determine whether a single bond for all officers and employees or individual bonds for all officers or employees or a combination of a blanket bond and individual bonds best serves the county.
In determining adequate coverage, the county board of commissioners may obtain bond coverage with provisions relative to problems of a unique nature, including loss deductible or coinsurance provisions.
