Mich. Comp. Laws § 500.108: Authorized, unauthorized insurer; definitions.

Sec. 108.

As used in this code:

"Authorized" insurer means an insurer duly authorized, by a subsisting certificate of authority issued by the commissioner, to transact insurance in this state.

"Unauthorized" insurer means an insurer not so authorized to transact insurance in this state.
