Mich. Comp. Laws § 500.1227: Conduct of adjuster; prohibitions.

Sec. 1227.

An adjuster for an insured shall not solicit or attempt to solicit a loss during progress of a loss-producing occurrence nor while the fire department or its representatives are engaged at the damaged premises.

An adjuster for an insured shall not collect or attempt to collect a fee or charge from a repair contractor for obtaining repair work for the contractor.

An adjuster for an insured shall not advance money or any other valuable thing to an insured pending adjustment of a claim.
