Mich. Comp. Laws § 54.269: County surveyor as county representative for surveying projects.

Sec. 9.

The county surveyor in each county in this state shall perform the duties of county representative for all surveying projects approved or initiated under this act. If a county does not have a county surveyor, the county board of commissioners shall appoint a licensed professional surveyor to perform the duties described in this section.
