Sec. 12a.

A law enforcement agency that obtains bail or bond money from or on behalf of a person arrested pursuant to a warrant issued by a court may collect, in addition to the bail or bond money, an amount not more than $10.00 from the person arrested or from another person on behalf of the person arrested.

A law enforcement agency collecting the amount of money under subsection (1) shall promptly deposit the money into an account created for that purpose in the treasury of the law enforcement agency's governing body.

The money in the account created under subsection (2) may be expended by the governing body to defray the expense of receiving, depositing, and delivering bail or bond money.
