Minn. Stat. § 124D.73: DEFINITIONS.

Subdivision 1. Scope.

For the purposes of sections 124D.71 to 124D.82, the terms defined in this section have the meanings given them.

Subd. 2.

Subd. 3. Tribal Nations Education Committee.

"Tribal Nations Education Committee" means the committee established through tribal directive that the commissioner consults with on American Indian education programs, policy, and all matters related to educating Minnesota's American Indian students.

Subd. 4. Participating school; American Indian school.

"Participating school" and "American Indian school" mean a school that:

(1) is not operated by a school district; and

(2) is eligible for a grant under federal Title VI of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act for the education of American Indian children.

Subd. 5. American Indian student.

"American Indian student" means a student who identifies as American Indian or Alaska Native, as defined by the state on October 1 of the previous school year.
