Minn. Stat. § 260B.050: EXPERT ASSISTANCE.

In any county the court may provide for the physical and mental diagnosis of cases of minors who are believed to be persons who have a physical disability, mental illness, or developmental disability and for such purpose may appoint professionally qualified persons, whose compensation shall be fixed by the judge with the approval of the county board.
