Mo. Rev. Stat. § 166.041: State board of education to keep account with treasurer — suits to recover money due.

1. The state board of education shall keep a regular account with the state treasurer and all other persons in relation to the state public school fund.

2. The state board of education shall require all persons who receive any money belonging to the fund or income to settle their accounts, and, in that name, may sue for and recover all moneys due from any person on account of the fund or income.
