Mo. Rev. Stat. § 174.070: Regents' term of office.

The regents shall hold their offices for the term of six years from the first day of January next prior to their confirmation, and until their successors are duly appointed and qualified, except such as may be appointed to fill a vacancy, who shall hold office for the unexpired term.
