Mo. Rev. Stat. § 231.130: Overseer to care for trees.

It shall be the duty of the road overseer of the district, including any of the roads aforesaid, to protect and care for any and all of the trees so planted under the supervision of the county highway engineer, and to file information against and prosecute any person or persons who shall injure or destroy any of such trees.
