Mo. Rev. Stat. § 362.025: Articles of agreement to be filed.

The articles of agreement shall be signed and acknowledged by the parties thereto and shall be filed with the director of finance. If the director finds the articles to be improperly drawn, he or she shall immediately return them to the parties indicating the corrections to be made.
