Mo. Rev. Stat. § 9.418: Infertility Awareness Week designated for last full week of April

The last full week of April each year shall be known as "Infertility Awareness Week" in Missouri. Infertility is a medical condition defined by the inability to achieve pregnancy after twelve months or more of regular, unprotected sexual activity, or the inability to carry a pregnancy to live birth, affecting millions of individuals and couples worldwide. It is estimated that approximately one in eight couples in the United States experience infertility, impacting people across all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in appropriate events and activities to raise awareness about infertility to help reduce stigma, foster understanding, and promote equitable access to fertility treatments and family-building options, including assisted reproductive technologies, adoption, and surrogacy.
