The clerk of the district court shall keep a book called the "Register of Criminal Actions", which must have a proper index and in which must be entered the title and number of the action with a memorandum of every paper filed and order or proceeding had in the action, along with the date of the filing, order, or proceeding, and a memorandum of the name of every witness, the number of days that the witness attended, and the person's witness fees.
