The department has the custody of the state standards of weight and measure and of the other standards and equipment provided for by parts 1 through 5 and shall keep accurate records of them. The department shall enforce the provisions of parts 1 through 5. It shall supervise the weights and measures used in commerce or trade that are offered for sale, sold, or in use in this state.
