7-32-4131: Compensation and allowance for sick or injured police officers.

Whenever a member of a police department in a city or town is, on account of sickness or disability suffered or sustained while a member of the police department and not caused or brought on by dissipation or abuse, confined to any hospital or the officer's home and requires medical attention and care, the police officer may be allowed, by the city council, the police officer's salary during the absence and an amount equal to the police officer's expenses while confined for the injury or sickness.
