10. a. Every applicant for licensure as a certified public accountant, having passed the examination in compliance with the provisions of section 9 of P.L.1997, c.259 (C.45:2B-50), shall provide satisfactory proof to the board that for individuals applying for licensure pursuant to paragraph (1) of subsection c. of section 8 of P.L.1997, c.259 (C.45:2B-49), two years of experience providing any type of service or advice involving the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax, or consulting skills, all of which were verified by a licensee, were completed and the requirements prescribed by the board pursuant to promulgated regulations were met, and for individuals applying for licensure pursuant to paragraph (2) of subsection c. of section 8 of P.L.1997, c.259 (C.45:2B-49), one year of the experience in the same subject matter aforementioned was completed and board requirements were met. The experience required pursuant to this section is acceptable if it was gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public practice.
