NRS 19.034: Reduced fees for adoption of child with special needs or petition relating to agreement for postadoptive contact.

1. If the agency which provides child welfare services, or a child-placing agency licensed by the Division of Child and Family Services of the Department of Human Services pursuant to chapter 127A of NRS, consents to the adoption of a child with special needs pursuant to NRS 127B.440, 127C.490 or 127D.290, the clerk of the court shall reduce the total filing fee to not more than $1 for filing the petition to adopt such a child.

2. If a parent or adoptive parent who has entered into an agreement that provides for postadoptive contact pursuant to NRS 127B.600, 127C.600 or 127D.400 files a petition pursuant to subsection 1 or 2 of NRS 127C.630, subsection 1 or 2 of NRS 127B.630 or subsection 1 or 2 of NRS 127D.430, the clerk of the court shall reduce the total filing fee to not more than $1 for filing the petition.
