NRS 248.245: Report of deaths to public administrator or person employed or contracted to perform the duties of public administrator in certain counties.

In counties having a population of less than 100,000, the sheriff shall report immediately all deaths which the sheriff gains knowledge of in the performance of his or her duties to the public administrator or the person employed or contracted with pursuant to NRS 253.125, as applicable.
