NRS 283.080: Filling vacancy where power of appointment vested in Governor and Senate or in Legislature.

Whenever a vacancy shall occur, during the recess of the Legislature, in any office which the Legislature is authorized to fill by election, or which the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate, is authorized to fill, the Governor, unless it is otherwise specially provided, may appoint some suitable person to perform the duties of such office.
